Television, radio, web, written press, the French are increasingly looking for health information and medical recommendations.
According to this survey, 82% of them seek this information to improve their knowledge, change their behavior or communicate with their doctor.
Television, the most consulted source
The majority of French people (42%) choose television for information, a third of them refer to the print media and 19% to the radio. More than a third of those surveyed (36%) say they consult specialized websites, such as ours, Topsante.com, while a fifth trust blogs and forums.
According to this survey, the French seem to assimilate the information and follow the prescribed recommendations, because 82% declare to act thanks to these clarifications, 59% of them modify their behavior and more than a third seek to better understand the problems.
Conflicting information
If the French like health information, the majority of them are doubtful about their quality, clarity and reliability. Indeed, 69% of respondents find that this information is often contradictory, and 39% think that it is not always understandable or reliable.
This survey was conducted online, with a sample of 1,007 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over.
