A modern PC can easily contain hundreds of thousands of files and finding some of them by file name can take a while. Search engines speed up that process by indexing your hard drives when you’re idle, but there’s another way, by directly accessing the table of contents of the drives. SwiftSearch uses this method and the program is indeed extremely fast (0.2s to search about 5 TB of data). It’s nice that SwiftSearch also works with wildcards and path names. By the way, the program only works on the NTFS file system.
