There have been programs for years to remove vocals from a music file. Nice for those who want to make an orchestra band for a cozy karaoke evening. Unfortunately, the result is invariably abysmal; the music sounds like the band is playing in a bucket and the original vocals are still vaguely audible. But now there’s Slitter. This program not only splits vocals and the rest, often with perfect quality, but can also split vocals, bass, drums, piano and the rest, which is useful for those who want to create practice material to play drums, for example.
