Taking a screenshot in Windows is just as rudimentary today as it was twenty years ago. Can’t Microsoft do better? Of course it is. The Microsoft Garage department makes all kinds of experimental programs, including screen grabber Snip, a tip from Jeroen de Waal. With Snip, you can easily capture a window, all or part of the screen. You can then provide that image with drawn markings or – and Snip is quite unique in this – with spoken text. Once satisfied, you can share your work with the world. We might just run into Snip in the next major Windows Update.
