In addition to instructions, an exe or dll file also contains all kinds of components that a program uses. These components, also known as resources or ‘resources’ in English, are for example windows, menus, icons, error messages and so on – even animations and music are possible. With Resource Hacker you can view and copy them all in any supported file type (including .res and .mui). You can even build your own resource files, but just poking around and looting is fun too. For safety’s sake, do it with copies of files.
