The holy grail of artificial intelligence is real and complete language comprehension. We are certainly not there yet, but important steps are being taken. An excellent test for language comprehension is of course having texts translated by the computer. We know that Google Translate has gotten better over the years, but it now has a formidable competitor using AI called DeepL. Although DeepL still supports far fewer languages than Google (fortunately Dutch), it does deliver more convincing translation work, although there are pitfalls that both fall into equally hard.
