An American inventor has developed a connected plate to calculate the number of calories present in meals. It remains to find the funds to market it.
Watch, bracelet, pen. Today everything is connected. In this list, it will soon be necessary to add the plate. The SmartPlate, that’s its name, is an intelligent plate that provides multitudes of information to its user.
She identifies and weighs foods to check the number of calories contained and better monitor her diet. Despite its childish appearance, with its three compartments, the SmartPlate, according to the inventors, is an excellent way to curb snacking cravings.
Anthony Ortiz, the creator of this connected dietetic assistant, is now seeking to collect on the participatory site Kickstarter, to the general public 100,000 dollars. The goal: to launch production to market their prototype.
Manual
The intelligent plate analyzes the nature, composition and nutritional quality of foods. For this, the device has three photo sensors to visually identify foods. Nutritional information comes from different databases.
This food coach also provides advice thanks to a smartphone application to which it is connected by wifi, to help the user to adapt his diet according to his goal.
The application sends notifications indicating whether or not to remove some of the content on the plate.
Perhaps marketing this smart plate could help dieters achieve their goals.
