For nearly a year, researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital followed 224 children daily. During this experiment, they replaced their usual sugary drinks with sugar-free and therefore calorie-free sodas. Unlike adolescents who consumed sugary drinks, these patients gained two pounds less and kept their body mass index stable.
To fight againstobesity, it therefore seems essential to reduce the consumption of sugary products and to teach adolescents suffering from this disease to choose products adapted to their desires but by minimizing calories to modify their eating habits.
But, is it necessary to consume light products, rich in aspartame and others additives which we do not really know the effects on the body?
In the United States, sugary drinks and their XXL formats are the food products with the greatest impact on the weight of young people. 17% of the calorie intake of American adolescents comes from these drinks with high sugar levels. Proportions beyond measure with our food, since Americans consume nearly 4.5 times more sodas and fruit juices than the French.
