Perhaps you have seen this (false) information pass on your social networks: the Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn would have castigated the ” waste “nursing staff and declared on the radio that” caregivers complain about the lack of means but never mention the waste they make of them: syringes, dressings and even gloves, they throw everything away after the first use so as not to have to clean up “…
A quote that has, of course, made people cringe, at a time when the nursing staff of public hospitals are in their eighth month of strike to denounce ever more difficult working conditions . On social networks, it was enough to trigger insults.
Fake news in the midst of a public hospital crisis
Yes, but here it is: this is fake news. Let’s go back to the beginning: the quote (which is accompanied by a photo of Agnès Buzyn behind the microphone of Europe 1) was posted on Twitter this Thursday, November 14, 2019 by “The Élysée newspaper”. However, the “newspaper” in question very openly claims to be… a parody!
And the photo used to illustrate this parody quote comes from an intervention by Agnès Buzyn on the radio (on Europe 1, therefore) on Tuesday September 17, 2019: ironically, the minister presented precisely the government’s responses to the emergency strike movement…
A relatively obvious “fake”, then. But that was without taking into account the ambient discontent and the snowball effect: parody or not, the (false) quote from the Minister circulated on Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat… Before being “de bunkée” by our colleagues from the World !
