It’s a great way to take advantage of essential oilsbecause, thanks to the steam from the bath (not too hot anyway!), their active ingredients diffuse and act through the entire system ENT, as during an inhalation! They also cross the skin to join the blood circulation to relieve “from the inside”. Three essential tips
1. Don’t use just any oil
Check above all that it is compatible with cutaneous and respiratory use. You have the choice ! Chamomile, eucalyptus removed, lavender aspic or true, sweet orange, Scots pine, rosemary, thyme with linalool, ylang-ylang… Mix it up if you wish, and don’t exceed 10 drops for a small bath and 20 for a large bath!
2. Do not pour essential oils directly into the bath water
They are not water-soluble and therefore remain on the surface where they will make bubbles, which can irritate or even burn, the skin once immersed. They must be mixed with a neutral base to bath (in pharmacies) or milk or cream (in the food section), but the dispersion is not as perfect… Avoid oil which will give you trouble afterwards to clean the bathtub… and stir the water carefully so that they spread evenly.
3. Don’t rinse on the way out
Dry yourself gently by dabbing with a towel.
