Two new spots broadcast on television and in the cinema from September 20 have the signature “Don’t let tobacco decide for you”. They are in line with the previous campaign denouncing the tobacco industry’s grip on adolescents.
The television spots will be broadcast in mainland France from September 20 to October 14 on terrestrial channels, young cable and satellite channels. They feature a character, a symbol of tobacco and the manipulation of its industry, who guides the actions of young people to encourage them to light a cigarette. One of the spots will also be shown in theaters from October 1 to 29.
For the occasion, an interactive site has been created. It uses the principle of spots by providing information on tobacco dependence, the practices of the tobacco industry and solutions to quit. Field operations will also be carried out in front of high schools, in cafes, cinemas and nightclubs.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 26.3% of French people aged 15 smoke regularly.
