A relief. Now emergency physicians are also entitled to RTT. From 60 hours per week, their maximum working time increases to 48 hours, ie 39 hours of clinical work and 9 hours reserved for “non-clinical” work. Qualified as a “small revolution” in the public hospital, this reorganization of working time is greeted with satisfaction by the professionals concerned. The emergency responders had expressed their fed up with their working conditions last Christmas. This standoff with the Minister of Health Marisol Touraine resulted in a 24-hour strike before obtaining theopening of negotiations and the promise of an organization of their working hours.
It’s done: the emergency responders won their case. The application circular limits “shift clinical work” (taking charge of patients in the emergency room, on a post which is the subject of a relief by a colleague) to thirty-nine hours per week.
The hours exceeded will be remunerated in addition, responding to one of the demands of the doctors.
Other advances, “shift” work, the time spent waiting between two emergencies and during which the practitioner must remain available, is now accounted for, adds the document, repeated by AFP.
Recognition of “non-clinical” work
Finally, administrative tasks outside the clinical domain, namely coordination, organization, research or training work are recognized. They are the subject of a time package specifically dedicated to these activities which amounts to 9 hours per week.
