‘Edit function Twitter keeps edit history’

'Edit function Twitter keeps edit history'

Twitter previously announced that users will have access to an edit button. But that does raise questions about the public nature of those edits.

If we take the findings of software engineer Jane Manchung Wong believe that it will be soon. Wong reports that Twitter keeps an edit history.

However, it is not clear whether you as a user can access the edit history of a tweet. At the time of writing, Wong has not yet found any evidence for this. A public edit history should be able to avoid a lot of problems.

Screenshot of edit function on Twitter

In addition, another software engineer posted a screenshot on Twitter, showing the edit function in the list of other options. It is not clear whether the screenshot, in this case taken by Alessandro Paluzziis self-made (and is therefore a so-called mock-up) or whether it is actually the upcoming feature in the official Twitter app.

When you press the edit button, you will end up in the same screen where you normally compose a tweet. However, the text field is not empty. The text of your previous tweet is still there, as is a blue Update button. We don’t see any editing history in the screenshots of Paluzzi.

Twitter currently does not want to confirm whether there will be some kind of tweet tracker, which you can use to view the editing history of custom messages.
