Elon Musk’s legal team is now responding for the first time to Twitter’s lawsuit and wants to postpone the case.
Twitter’s board of directors would like the trial to take place in mid-September with a ruling by the end of October. But Elon Musk’s team disagrees.
He would like the lawsuit to start on February 13, 2023 at the earliest, writes Bloomberg. Twitter declined to comment on the current state of affairs, so it’s not clear how the company stands here.
Twitter takes Elon Musk to court
Last week Twitter took Elon Musk to court, because the infamous tech entrepreneur wants to get out of the takeover bid of 41 billion euros, which he made earlier this year.
Although Elon Musk previously very much wanted to take over Twitter and had various plans for it, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX decided to abandon the current agreements.
He wanted to know about the number of spam accounts on the platform, but he says he does not get an unequivocal answer. While Twitter thinks it gives the tech entrepreneur enough openness.
There will be a hearing next week. Then we’ll hear when the trial takes place.
