March 11, 2011 – How would you rate your cooking skills? How about your knowledge of nutrition: excellent, good or limited?
In March, “Tout le monde à table” (TLMAT) is continuing its vast survey on the eating behaviors of Quebec families and asks you to assess your culinary skills and your knowledge of nutrition.
Anyone who is willing to share their experiences and opinions are welcome to do so on the TLMAT website. The answers will be used for a large research project led by nutritionists from Extenso, from the University of Montreal.

February poll results
In February, TLMAT asked you about the frequency of your meals cooked at home. Although the majority of respondents (79%) say they saw their parents cook homemade dinners every night, the proportion of parents today who said they did the same is 50%.
“These figures are quite revealing of the lives of current parents,” underlines Nathalie Jobin, nutritionist and project manager for TLMAT. They cook less, not because their parents were not role models in the kitchen, but because the pace of life has changed. Moreover, among the reasons that hinder healthy family meals, work-family balance is named as the main obstacle. The family’s activity and recreation schedule comes in second.
