Good question! In this section PlusOnline goes in search of answers to nagging questions. This time: Do I have to cancel the appointment for my corona test if my symptoms have (almost) disappeared?
Due to crowds, it can only take two to four days before you can have a corona test taken at a test street. Your symptoms may have already disappeared on the day your test is scheduled. Is it wise to cancel the appointment?
The answer is: no. According to the GGD GHOR, you should still be tested if your symptoms have (almost) disappeared. ‘There is a reason you made the agreement,’ writes the umbrella trade association of the 25 Municipal Health Services and Medical Relief Organizations in the Region, on Twitter.
Spokesperson for GGD Netherlands Sonja Kloppenburg explains RTL News He added: ‘In principle you may have had corona and it is important to do the test for source and contact research.’
The guideline has been drawn up together with the RIVM. RIVM spokesperson Harald Wychgel: ‘There are plenty of examples of people who only had symptoms for a short time, but who nevertheless turned out to be positive. You are also not allowed to go outside for the test or test result. You have to wait for the results at home.’
Are you over seventy or do you fall into a risk group? Then you can probably get tested more quickly at the doctor. Read more about it here.
Have you made a test appointment and are you now free of complaints? Then don’t cancel your appointment! Have yourself tested, there is a reason that you made the appointment. Even if your complaints are (almost) over. These guidelines, together with the @rivm drawn up. pic.twitter.com/DWIKB0ETMf
