The 2021 “Automobiles sur les Champs” auction of the Artcurial house will include among its lots a Dinalpin A110 from 1970. This Mexican “cousin” of the Alpine A110 was produced under license across the Atlantic and it is therefore particularly rare in France, while being less popular than the Dieppe berlinetta, the value of which has increased considerably in recent years.
A sports preparation berlinetta
The agreement between Jean Rédélé’s firm and DINA (DIesel NAcional), a Mexican manufacturer of heavy vehicles, resulted in the production of 700 sports cars with the Dinalpin badge between 1963 and 1974, including around 508 A110 berlinettes. The first 200 were equipped with a 1,100 cc engine, the following ones with a 1300 block from 1971. The example offered for sale here is an A110 1100 VA from 1970, the original block of which has been replaced by a 1300.
The intake manifold has been modified to fit a 40mm Weber dual-barrel carburetor.
