On July 3, 2015, the Dijon Bourgogne CHU unveiled to the general public its new website It is simultaneously launching a crowdfunding platform, a concept that is increasingly used today. Thanks to donations from Internet users, the establishment wants to acquire new equipment, develop research and improve the quality of reception.
The principle of the new platform is simple: projects are presented to Internet users, a financial objective is set and a call for donations is launched. This system allows the public to collectively support a project that appeals to them.
Three projects are currently being presented: the purchase of sound level meters, televisions and artistic works.
Sound level meters, televisions, work of art: purchases in anticipation of the Dijon University Hospital
Sound level meters installed in intensive care, by lighting up in different colors depending on the perceived sound level, will allow everyone (patients, visitors or professionals) to become aware of the noise that reigns in these areas of care and limit it.
The CHU also plans to equip the EHPAD (accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people) Champmaillot with digital televisions. Indeed, the equipment is old and this disrupts the proper functioning of the digital network. “The cohabitation of the two networks makes the quality of reception disappointing while residents have difficulty accessing DTT”, explains the Dijon University Hospital.
Finally, the CHU wishes to ask an artist to produce a artwork which will be inserted into the exterior routes leading to hall A of Bocage Central, the establishment’s main access, in order to improve the hospital experience of users.
Allow patients and visitors to benefit from a comfortable environment
Donations can now be made online by credit card. “The aim of the approach is not to alleviate the financial constraints of the hospital, but to allow hospitalized people and visitors to benefit from a more comfortable and welcoming health environment”, affirms the management of the hospital center.
