October 05, 2012 – A study conducted by Dr. Koon Teo of McMaster’s University in Hamilton, Ontario and his team found that alcohol consumption increases the risk of atrial fibrillation, a form of arrhythmia that causes impulses accelerated and disordered heart attacks, in people aged 55 or over with cardiovascular disease or diabetes who regularly consume alcohol. The heart usually beats 60 to 80 beats per minute normally.
