Like the rest of the Dacia range, the Spring revamps its appearance to accommodate the new Dacia logo. Quite discreet changes for the moment, but the electric city car will also be entitled to technical developments during 2023, then to a very big restyling in 2024.
The Spring is still in its infancy. It only arrived in rental and car-sharing in France in March 2021, and private individuals only began to be delivered in the autumn of the same year. However, for this electric city car, the time for a small facelift has already arrived. Like the rest of the Dacia range, it does not simply welcome the brand’s new logo.

It takes the opportunity to also review its grille, replacing the chrome with white inserts. But the biggest change is actually much less visible. It hides behind the “Dacia Link”, the brand’s new emblem, made up of the intertwined letters D and C. This is the charging hatch which now opens sideways rather than upwards, a more logical and practical choice. Already available to order from €19,800, without deducting the bonus, this slightly revised Spring begins deliveries at the end of the year.

Often subtle changes

Even more subtly, the more observant will notice the new “shale gray” color applied to the roof bars, the front and rear shoes or the mirrors. While a new “Kaki Lichen” green exterior color is supposed to represent the new direction of the brand, now focused on outdoor recreation. On the tailgate as on the steering wheel, the old Dacia logo has also not been replaced by its successor. It is now the full name of the brand that is displayed.

Finally, while we have mentioned the disappearance of chrome on the grille, in particular to limit the consumption of natural resources, we may be surprised to see a chrome outline arrive… around the central console and the air vents. A way to improve the perceived quality at a lower cost in a cabin still dominated by very basic plastics. On this point, the Spring remains far from being able to compete with the Sandero and Jogger.
Big changes to come
Yet, as The argus mentioned to you some time ago, this 100% electric city car should give lessons in interior modernity to the rest of the range by 2024. That year, a very major restyling of the Spring is indeed planned. With, as a highlight, the arrival of a brand new dashboard, already seen in China on Dongfeng’s EX1 Nano Box, the partner of Renault and Dacia on this project.

The exterior modifications are more mysterious for the moment, but they also promise to be important. While keeping the same underpinnings as today and a familiar profile, this Spring will almost look like a second generation. Technically, however, the brand will not wait for this facelift to make changes. From 2023, the battery should indeed gain around 2 kWh of autonomy, while a 60 hp engine will be offered in addition to the current modest 44 hp block. Definitely, on the Spring, the evolutions are jostling at a frantic pace!
