The new Dacia Jogger in Comfort finish and LPG engine helps to limit the purchase bill and save money at the pump. A version well in the spirit of this anti-crisis family break.

There will be a Diesel Jogger, but this one will not come to France. Here, Dacia has chosen dual-fuel petrol and LPG as the economical version in use. This is not a first in the range of the Romanian manufacturer, since the Sandero and Duster already offer this solution. Moreover, LPG represented 30% of Dacia’s sales in France in 2021.
For its unique Jogger family model, the Romanian manufacturer therefore offers this version called Eco-G and equipped with the 100 hp 1.0 TCe petrol engine. A block designed from the start to be suitable for LPG. The installation of the components and the installation of the specific tank are carried out in the factory. Like the other Dacia LPGs, the Jogger has two tanks: a first 50 l for unleaded, a second 40 l for LPG. The vehicle runs indifferently with one or the other of the fuels, and this specificity allows it to display more than 1,000 km of autonomy. Rather appreciable for departures on vacation!
Dacia Jogger LPG price
The LPG engine is the price of access to the Jogger. But, at €14,990 in Essential, the equipment for this finish is too narrow. With the Comfort level of our test model, the price is set at €16,700 and the standard equipment is enriched. Air conditioning, 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, cruise control and reversing radar are indeed present. The look is enhanced by the rims with rather successful Flex Wheel hubcaps, the mirrors in your bodywork and the Soft Feel steering wheel with a more pleasant touch. Even the famous pivoting roof bars of the Sandero Stepway are there.
On the budget side, the Jogger LPG combines the advantages. It is exempt from the ecological penalty, it does not pay for a gray card in the majority of regions (or only 50% of the price), and its fuel is 40 % cheaper than unleaded (€0.90/l on average). About 1,700 service stations distribute LPG in France. And, when the dedicated tank is empty, there is always the unleaded tank to continue its journey. Finally, this Jogger is eligible for the Crit’Air 1 sticker, and it can be equipped with seven seats for an additional €750.
Driving
Before hitting the road, it is necessary to remove any doubt about full of LPG. A lot of preconceived ideas circulate about its realization, but let’s be clear: it’s child’s play, even if the LPG gun that you clip on the cup sometimes requires a little grip. In any case, there is nothing dangerous, and refueling is quick to do. A button on the left of the steering wheel allows you to choose the fuel used; we will obviously advise to favor LPG, because it is much cheaper. When the tank is empty, the car automatically switches to unleaded.
The Jogger takes up the platform of the Sandero with a stretched length of 45 cm to favor space on board. No need to hide it, this Dacia is not the car for those looking for thrills behind the wheel. Its chassis is placid, its steering without much feeling, and its somewhat rough engine does not know the word performance. But this Jogger offers something else. It takes up the torch of economical family breaks that Renault once knew how to do with the R21 Nevada. With him, we don’t care about speed. We prefer to admire the landscape rather than watch the meter and we favor the routes bis to avoid overpriced tolls. The essentials are preserved on the road with a very decent level of comfort, well helped by the high sidewall tires, and an engine valiant enough to fit easily into traffic thanks to the contained weight of the car. In LPG mode, you even benefit from a slight additional torque at low revs.
Break for the family, the Jogger is also the ideal leisure car. Its large hold allows you to take bikes on board without worrying or come back from a flea market with something other than a set of aperitif glasses. But it is for its sobriety that this model will be chosen. And that’s where its LPG engine comes into play, compared to the TCe 110 version that we found a bit greedy. Admittedly, the overconsumption of LPG compared to gasoline (+20%) must be taken into account. But, with this 40% cheaper fuel, you don’t have to pass the baccalaureate to understand that LPG is the winning formula. In fact, on a mainly road course, we found 8.4 l / 100 km in LPG mode and 6.8 l in gasoline. Scores that will have to be confirmed on a longer trip.

Competetion
No need to peel the catalogs of the competition: a family car fueled by LPG and marketed at a comparable price, that does not exist. The closest model is the Fiat Tipo SW Cross 1.0 l GSE with 100 hp. But its price starts much higher (€21,990), and it does not run on LPG. It is internally that we find resistance since a Dacia Duster Eco-G Confort is billed at €17,350. It’s 750 € more than the equivalent Jogger, but we reach the status of SUV in a compact size, the Duster displaying 4.34 m long, against 4.55 m for the Jogger.
