The new Dacia Jogger is ready for the tests taking place in the south of France. While waiting to meet on Wednesday February 2 for our impressions at the wheel, here is what you need to know about this unique family model at a friendly price.
It is an event for Dacia. A brand new model takes its place in the range alongside the Spring, Sandero and Duster. His name: Jogger. Its mission: to replace the Lodgy, which has recently disappeared from the catalogue. No minivan silhouette for the newcomer, but the family skills are there with a seven-seater version and another five-seater with a generous trunk.
Jogger, a Sandero for the family
To build its new family proposal, Dacia is using the technical base, the dashboard and the entire front end (headlamps, bonnet, fenders, windscreen bay and front doors) of the Sandero city car. From the central pillar of the car, on the other hand, everything is transformed. And the wheelbase is stretched to the maximum. The Jogger suddenly has a total length of 4.55 m ; it’s 45 cm longer than the city car and even 5 cm longer than the Lodgy. The large rear doors facilitate access to the bench seat. The trunk can accommodate all the luggage of a young family or install a third row of seats.

The nice coup de force of Dacia lies in the look and the stylistic coherence of the Jogger despite the imposed sharing of body parts with the Sandero. The big brother looks like an adventurous station wagon, especially in its Extreme finish (the one in the photos). It offers good access to the trunk thanks to the wide tailgate and is fitted with the pivoting roof bars that we appreciated during our 4,000 km test with the Sandero Stepway.
A starting price under €15,000
Orders have been open since the end of 2021, but it is in February 2022 that the Jogger will arrive in Dacia dealerships. We can then discover its four finishes (Essential, Comfort, Extreme and Extreme +) which come with two engines: 100 hp 1.0 Eco-G with dual-fuel petrol/LPG and new 110 hp TCe petrol engine. Prices start at €14,990 for entry-level, and expect €16,700 for a well-equipped model (Comfort finish) with LPG engine. The high-end Extreme starts at €17,700. Don’t be shy to afford it!
A hybrid Jogger in the works
The Romanian manufacturer already sees beyond the launch phase of its new product and cannot remain insensitive to the rise in power of the hybrid on the Marlet. A full hybrid Jogger is therefore already in preparation; a first for Dacia. The vehicle will receive Renault’s E-Tech technology with a 1.6 petrol engine, as currently on the Clio and Captur hybrids. We will have to wait until 2023 to see this version arrive, which will be made in Morocco like the other Joggers.
