Dacia removes the Media Nav multimedia system with GPS from the standard equipment of the Dacia Duster in Prestige finish, which sees its price decrease accordingly. This device remains mounted on the upper finishes.
The semiconductor shortage that weighed heavily on the automotive market in 2021 looks set to last and affect production for at least a few more months. Latest victim: the Dacia Duster. In its intermediate Prestige finish, the SUV of the Romanian manufacturer “low cost” no longer equipped with the navigation system which was included in its standard equipment until now.
A less complete multimedia system
In Prestige finish, the Duster theoretically has the Media Nav infotainment system, which therefore includes a GPS, but also two USB ports and six speakers. All ordered via an 8-inch touchscreen installed on the center console with smartphone replication. In the absence of Media Nav, Dacia Duster Prestige produced from this month of February 2022 receive the Media Display device. The 8-inch monitor is still in the game, as is the smartphone replication. But, in addition to the disappearance of the GPS, the number of loudspeakers falls to four, and it is now necessary to make do with a single USB port.

When ordering, the replacement of the Media Nav by the Media Display takes the form of a “negative” option displayed at – €150, raising the base price of the Duster Prestige to €18,450. Note that the Prestige + configuration and the limited Extreme series, both more upscale, still benefit from Media Nav as standard. The less expensive of the two is the Prestige + which, with a starting price of €18,900, therefore induces an additional cost of €450 for those who want to take advantage of the navigation system.
