While the Covid-19 epidemic seems to be on the rise again, new reductions in health restrictions come into effect on Monday.
- 970 new people have been hospitalized due to Covid-19 over the past seven days, an increase of 0.41%.
- The average number of new critical care entries per day is decreasing. There have been an average of 103 over the last week, a decrease of 15.57%.
Covid-19 infections are on the rise again. On average, over the past seven days, 56,674 new daily cases have been confirmed, an increase of 12.33% over the week, according to the latest figures published by the government. Another negative sign: the incidence rate. It is currently at 606.72, an increase of 12.22% over the last seven days. There is therefore, over the last week, a resumption of the epidemic. And yet, as of this Monday, March 14, the government has decided to lighten certain health measures.
No more masks in closed places
The mask, first of all, will no longer be compulsory in almost all closed places. In shops, companies but also in schools, there is no longer any need to cover your face. But this measure does not concern public transport such as trains, planes, buses, trams or metros. Exception also for hospitals and nursing homes, where the mask will remain compulsory.
People who have tested positive for Covid-19 are invited to wear the mask for the seven days following their period of isolation. This also applies to high-risk contact cases.
Continue to apply hygiene rules
The government also specifies that in business, social distancing will no longer be compulsory but that “it will be necessary to continue to apply hygiene rules such as hand washing, cleaning of surfaces and ventilation of the premises”.
More vaccination pass
From this Monday, it is also the end of the vaccination pass. Nevertheless, the health pass – a complete vaccination schedule, the result of a negative test or a certificate of recovery – will be requested to enter medical-social establishments. This measure constitutes a major change for people who have not been vaccinated: they will once again be able to take the train or the plane, go to restaurants and the cinema, access to which will no longer be conditional on the presentation of a vaccination pass. .
The health protocol at level 1 in schools
In primary schools, colleges and high schools, the health protocol goes to level 1. This means that there will no longer be any mixing of students by level or restrictions for the practice of physical and sports activities. Indoor contact sports will also be able to resume.
No generalized fourth dose
This Saturday, March 12, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the opening of the fourth dose of vaccine “people over 80 who received their booster dose more than three months ago“. On the other hand, there is currently no question of generalizing it to the rest of the population. According to the recommendations of the Vaccine Strategy Orientation Council (COSV) in an opinion dated November 19, 2021, there is no Only immunocompromised people are affected by this recall.
