If your child is infected with Covid-19 at school, it is better, at the present time… not to be vaccinated! Explanations.
- Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 48,877,298 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 72.5% of the total population) and 44,838,424 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 66.5% of the total population).
- The number of hospitalized patients has stabilized for a week, between 11,000 and 11,200 people.
As nearly 12 million students have returned to school, The Parisian reveals that, according to the health protocol put in place to fight against Covid-19, the treatment between vaccinated and non-vaccinated parents varies in the event of contamination of the child.
Unvaccinated parents can be declared “contact case”
Indeed, if his child is sick, it is better, at present, not to be vaccinated. As in June, government measures require that a case of Covid-19 in a primary class leads to its closure, and that in middle and high school, only contact case students who are not vaccinated must isolate themselves. one week and follow the courses remotely.
In case of isolation of the child, the unvaccinated parents can be declared “contact case” and stay with him for the required seven days, receiving 90% of their gross pay without a waiting period (or even 100% depending on collective agreements).
Less advantageous solutions for vaccinated parents
For vaccinated parents, the situation is much less advantageous, since they are no longer considered as contact cases by Social Security since a decision by the Ministry of Health at the end of July. Vaccinated parents can then only ask their employer to benefit from the partial unemployment scheme, which will only be compensated up to 70% of their gross salary. Much less therefore than unvaccinated parents, knowing that in addition, the employer can refuse his agreement. There remains the possibility of taking “sick child” leave (rare outside of large companies), leave, RTT or telecommuting.
“The government should correct this inequality as soon as possible,” announce our colleagues from Pointwhich the Health Insurance confirmed to us.
