Hospital pressure relating to the Covid-19 epidemic continues to decline in France. This is shown by the latest data from Public Health France published on Monday, June 21, 2021. Indeed, French hospitals still receive fewer patients, including the most serious cases, according to the health agency.
Figures down since the last peak of the epidemic
According to the latest data from Public Health France, the pressure on hospital services, relating to the Covid-19 epidemic, continues to decrease in France. Indeed, this Monday, June 21, 2021, there were some 10,386 patients with Covid-19 who occupied hospital beds against 10,518 the day before and 12,374 last week. As for new admissions, the number rises to 216 in 24 hours according to the health agency.
As for the critical care services that welcome patients with the most serious forms of the disease (intensive care units, intensive care services and continuing care services), there were 1655 patients on Monday against 1703 the day before. Since the start of the epidemic, the number of patients in critical care has been a key indicator. While it fell below the 2,000 patient mark last week against 6,000 at the end of April, we can conclude that it reflects a clear decline.
Finally, the health agency mentions 487 new contaminations of Covid-19 on French territory this Monday, June 21. The test positivity rate over the last seven consolidated days (i.e. the number of people who tested positive by RT-PCR or antigen test among the number of people who had at least one test during this period and who never tested positive in the previous 60 days) is now 1%.
48.1% of the French population now vaccinated
While hospital pressure continues to decline, vaccination for its part, continues to progress. A total of 18,701,201 French people are now fully vaccinated (either with two injections, or with a single dose if they have received Janssen’s product, or if they had already been infected before). Since the start of the vaccination campaign last December, there have been more than 32,224,257 people who have received at least one injection, which represents about 48.1% of the total population and 61.4% of the adult population.
