In a decree published this Monday in the Official Journal, the government details the list of establishments concerned by the closure of “non-essential” businesses.

As part of the health measures announced against the coronavirus, the government has decided to close all businesses deemed “not essential”. In a decree published this Monday, March 16 at Official newspaper, are detailed which establishments fall into the box of essential and non-essential.
Large open areas
During the weekend, the list of establishments that can open has continued to decrease. This Saturday, the Prime Minister, Édouard Philippe, had mentioned food stores, pharmacies, banks, tobacconists and gas stations as part of the essentials. On Sunday, bars and restaurants fell into the category of non-essentials. There was still a vagueness concerning a good number of businesses.
This Monday, everything was clarified in a decree. Large stores of different sizes, convenience stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets, can continue their activity. Automobile and two-wheeler equipment dealers, suppliers to farmers and their equipment manufacturers, computer or telephone sellers and repairers are open, as are laundries and funeral services.
