the Ministry of Health has just announced that infant milks for the first age have just been withdrawn from the market due to possible contamination by Salmonella agona. We tell you everything.

“ The health authorities have been informed of the contamination by salmonella (Salmonella serotype agona) of 20 young children aged less than 6 months in 8 different regions “, Said the Ministry of Health in a statement. Contamination that would be due to the presence of this bacterium in infant formula packs 1st age, manufactured between mid-July and the end of November, in a production site of the Lactalis group.
A toll-free number has been made available to parents to answer their questions (0800 120 120, open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Salmonella is a bacterium found in the digestive system of animals. It is not yet known how it could have been found in this infant milk, but Public Health France and the General Directorate for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) are conducting the investigation.
Which boxes are affected?
In case of contamination, the child may suffer from vomiting and diarrhea, sometimes with a little blood. The main risk is dehydration of the baby, as with gastroenteritis. If your child starts to vomit and their milk is on the list that has been taken off the market, go to your doctor for antibiotics. Salmonella agona infections normally occur within 3 days of ingestion.
