Hot milk, calm cough quickly, and honey helps protect the throat thanks to its antiviral and healing properties. In addition, the antioxidant tannins of sage give it toning properties, ideal for chasing fatigue caused by colds and giving it a little boost!
No more than 3 cups per day
This southern plant is acclimatized to all gardens, provided it is protected from severe frost. The leaves, harvested in June-July, are dried in the shade and in the fridge. They can be kept for one year.
It can also be easily obtained in herbalists and organic stores. Be careful, however, because sage, like any active substance, can cause unwanted effects (nausea, vomiting, dizziness, etc. ), in particular due to the presence of thujone, a molecule also contained in wormwood. It is therefore recommended to limit its consumption to 3 cups per day, and not to follow the treatment for more than 10 days.
Sage is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in case of hormone-dependent breast cancer.
