For the 17th edition of its traditional “Automobiles des Champs” auction, the famous auction house Artcurial has planned no less than 97 lots. Dinalpin from 1970, De Dion Bouton Vis-Vis Type L convertible from 1902, Peugeot 201 Coupé, Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupé from 2017… The number of nuggets is quite substantial. But today we are interested in a rare Citroën, the price of which is riquiqui: the Visa discoverable.

Produced in only 2,633 copies
This Visa was designed with the bodybuilder Heuliez, five years after the release of the chevron city car. For reasons of development costs, it is ultimately the 4-door variant that is used and reinforced, while a canvas soft top covers the roof and the rear part, at the rear quarter panel. Unpublished, this variant had to revitalize Visa’s image and boost its sales volume … But it was a failure: 2,633 copies were produced in total, including 1,753 for 1983 alone. The models of that year were also the most sought after since they still benefited from the famous satellite controls. And that’s good, since today’s copy is precisely from this year.
It is indeed a Convertible Super E Visa registered on July 11, 1983, now showing 114,704 km. Repainted in its original gray shade, it appears to be in good condition. Only a defect on the left side sill is announced by the Parisian auction house. Seat covers helped preserve the original gray fabric interior. The black soft top is also in good condition. The original service instructions, the Blaupunkt radio booklet and the supplement specific to the open-top version are delivered with the vehicle. The car, having not driven in recent years according to the detailed sheet of the sale, a big revision will be necessary.

Offered at the auction on October 24, 2021, under the hammer of Hervé Poulain, this discoverable Visa is displayed without a reserve price. She is for the moment estimated between 3,000 and 5 000 €. But given the collector’s appearance of the model, in very good condition, it is not impossible that the price will soar if Citroën enthusiasts are there.
