Stripping for a good cause, such is the initiative of the students of the Corpo de Médecine de Caen. Since Monday, January 26, their 2015 calendar is available for the benefit of the League against cancer. This initiative follows their 2014 calendar, which was dedicated to the fight against AIDS and whose profits of 1,500 euros were donated to the AIDES association.
This year, the team worked with a photographer and a graphic designer, to create an aesthetic calendar. Some staging are thus freely inspired by The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci or the Violin d’Ingres by photographer Man Ray. Each month corresponds to an organ that can be affected by cancer: colorectal cancer in March, breast cancer in October or on testicular cancer in November.
“We tried to image so that it was not too shocking, while sensitizing against cancer ”, explains Camille Auger, vice-president of the Corpo de Médecine de Caen. “The nude was well received last year, the idea was good. But we didn’t want to copy without innovating, so we decided to make a compromise: the models are more or less naked, in any case they are far from being completely naked, ”reassures the young woman, who sincerely hopes that next year’s corpo office will reiterate the initiative, highlighting a new fight in the medical world.
The calendar is on sale on the University of Caen campus, but also on the site of the city’s Medicine Corp. Printed in 750 copies, it is sold at a price of 5 euros. More than 250 calendars have already been purchased.
