Nine weeks ago, a 69-year-old man, I had a TURP, which enlarges the prostate inside. The operation went well, but there are still white flakes in the urine. Six weeks after the operation I cycled once, but the urologist advises against cycling for the time being. What do you think?

In a TURP, a large part of the inside of the prostate scraped away through the urethra. The result is an open wound bed. Healing takes a long time, two to three months, as new skin tissue has to develop. The flakes in the urine indicate that the healing process is still ongoing.
If you no longer have any problems, you can carefully try cycling after nine weeks. If it doesn’t cause pain when urinating or blood in the urine, gradually expand it. To prevent pressure on the prostate as much as possible, it is best to purchase an old-fashioned skirt saddle.
