Questionnaires, carried out by telephone, made it possible to better understand the profile of the participants, namely their social origin, their age, their gender, their state of health, etc. Objective: to know the effects of junk food on mental healthe.
Fried and sugary foods pose a risk for depression and bipolar disorder
The results of the survey confirm thatpoor nutrition affects mental health. Thus, fried foods can lead to a risk of depression if consumed excessively. As for sugar, it can cause bipolar disorder in people who eat too much of it.
Morality, to maintain good mental health and avoid developing psychological disorders (moderate or severe), it is imperative toadopt a healthy diet, where fruits and vegetables find their place on the plates. Theory supported by Jim E. Banta, lead author of this study: “ Perhaps the time has come to pay more attention to the role of diet in mental health, because healthy eating choices may contribute to good mental health. More research is needed before we can answer definitively, but the evidence seems to point in this direction. »We read on Progress.
