The macabre series continues. 24 municipalities are added to the preventive slaughter list breeding birds. This measure is supposed to stop the circulation of avian influenza H5N8 in France. But on January 30, the Ministry of Agriculture noted, on its site, 187 outbreaks. The Southwest is still at the epicenter of the epizootic. But this tends to widen.
At last review, Haute-Garonne is added to the number of departments where a center ofinfluenza avian has been reported. An additional case also occurred in the Hautes-Pyrénées on January 30. The Gers remains at the heart of the epizootic with 79 domestic outbreaks and 6 recorded in wildlife. These sporadic cases aggravate an already explosive situation. Because with each new resurgence, the poultry and palmipeds to be slaughtered number in the thousands.
