Two batches of minced steaks and “angel hair” are recalled by the Auchan brand. They would be contaminated with E. Coli bacteria.
While a minced meat producer has just been sentenced to two years in prison for negligence leading to the intoxication of 18 people, new batches of minced steaks have been recalled for “suspected contamination” by the bacteria. E. Coli.
These are products from two batches sold by Auchan, from the VF company: unbranded minced steaks at 20% fat, and “angel hair” sold under the name Economic.
Health risks
Consumers are called upon to be vigilant. “Certain types ofEscherichia coli O157: H7 may cause, in the week following consumption, possibly hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, with or without fever, and which may be followed by severe renal complications in young children, specifies the company VF in the press release. People who have consumed the products mentioned and present this type of symptoms are invited to consult their attending physician without delay ”.
Consult in case of doubt
In principle, the products have already been consumed. Sold from June 21 in 70 stores, their use-by date was June 27. “If the meat has been eaten immediately and well cooked, there is no risk,” adds Antoine Duvinage, quality director of VF. We have recalled the batches to prevent consumers from being tempted to freeze packages of ground beef ”.
