To celebrate the imminent release of the new James Bond “Die Can Wait”, Aston Martin has installed a replica of the secret agent’s DB5 in the streets of Battersea, London. This giant replica is well protected in its Corgi box, named after the English manufacturer of miniatures for children.
In France, the release of the next film in the James Bond saga is expected on October 6, 2021, after being pushed back several times due to the pandemic. In the United Kingdom, the film will even be screened in theaters on September 30. To prepare for the release of the 25th episode of the saga, To die can wait, Aston Martin is launching an original one-month communication campaign. This showcases the famous DB5 of the world’s most famous British secret agent, in an astonishing format.
An XXL miniature DB5
The manufacturer of Gaydon has indeed unveiled an original installation, in the form of a miniature car replica in XXL format. The DB5 is protected in its original Corgi box, named after an English manufacturer of miniatures which has offered the model in its catalog since 1965: 20 million copies have been sold. Here, the giant replica is 5.66 m long by 2.7 m high and wide. The car, replica of that of 007 in the film Goldfinger, is equipped with its accessories prepared by “Q”: submachine guns in the headlights, rotating license plates, bullet-proof bumpers, etc.
The giant DB5 will be displayed in its box until 1er next October in front of the old Battersea coal-fired power station, South West London. It is part of a larger exhibition including other Aston Martin models owned by the secret agent: Aston Martin V8 Vantage, DB5 Continuation, DBS, and even the hypercar Valhalla which will make its appearance in the new opus of the saga. .
To keep fans who couldn’t make it to London patiently, Aston Martin also unveiled a 30-second clip showing some images of the models driven by Daniel Craig in the film. The video can be found below.
