People who have had the vaccine can also infect others
From September 25, you need a corona pass or a negative test to go to the cinema, for example, or to drink a cup of coffee and/or something to eat. You will receive a corona pass if you have been vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated, you must show a negative test. But why don’t people who have had a vaccine have to get tested? They can still get corona and infect others, right?
Research has shown that people who have had a vaccine can indeed still infect others. The vaccination protects against getting sick from the virus and some studies have shown that being vaccinated also reduces the transmission of the virus from one person to another.
To test
But it is therefore necessary – even if you are vaccinated – and have symptoms that match corona to be tested before you go somewhere. Is the result of the test positive? Even then it will still be necessary to go into quarantine and that visit to the cinema or that dinner will have to be postponed.
But you can also carry the virus while you have no symptoms, right? That too is correct. The OMT – Outbreak Management Team – therefore asked the cabinet this summer to consider having everyone tested at major events, vaccinated or not. This would reduce the chance of the virus spreading.
Vaccination readiness
But the government has decided otherwise. In a press conference, outgoing minister Hugo de Jonge explained: “Then it becomes much less attractive to get vaccinated. If, despite your vaccination, you still have to be tested until St. Then get vaccinated? In short, it doesn’t do anything good, we expect, with the willingness to vaccinate.” The corona app would not be ready for that (yet).
