An adult spends more than 6 hours online every day.
If on average an adult over the age of 16 spends 40% of his waking life on the Internet, it is because the laptop fulfills a whole number of functions intended for daily life which we no longer know how to do without. However, if the time spent on screens can be worrying, it is above all what we do with their consumption that impacts us the most.
Should we really demonize screens?
Beyond the demonization of screens in general, it is better to question the way in which they are used. It’s not the tool itself that poses a problem, but rather the relationship that everyone has with it.
Becoming aware of your consumption is therefore already a first step in realizing the amount of time spent on your phone in addition to the computer, tablet or television.
Ask yourself about your consumption
In addition to the time spent, everyone must also ask themselves what they are looking for and what their consumption brings them. Professional, recreational or social use will be completely different from deleterious use that impacts sleep, anxiety, relationships or morale.
In this case, unplugging for a few hours can teach you a lot about yourself and help you become aware of the positive but also negative impacts of your own screen consumption. Finding the balance is having enough control to sort out content and usage and know how to disconnect when necessary.
