'Apple VR and AR glasses will not be released before 2023'

The rumors about Apple’s VR and AR glasses just keep piling up. If we are to believe the latest rumors, the glasses will not appear before 2023.

For a moment, it looked like Apple could release the famed glasses in 2022. But Bloomberg writes now that the iPhone maker encounters several problems, which would have crossed out that goal.

Apple may be planning to showcase the glasses at this year’s WWDC. However, due to problems with overheating, cameras and software, the project is seriously delayed. As a result, the unveiling may not make it through the summer, so it may not take place until the end of the year. The headset should then be available for sale sometime in 2023. Bloomberg also writes that Apple had actually planned to present the glasses in 2021, and had planned to release them in 2022.

Apple was not available for comment. It is also true that the Cupertino company almost never responds to rumors, so that is not strange behaviour. In any case, you can’t parse anything from it.

Because Apple itself has not yet announced anything about the virtual and augmented reality glasses, we have to make do with information from the rumor circuit. This will reportedly be a high-end headset, with a hefty price tag of around $2,000. The onboard processor is comparable to the M1 chipsets found in MacBooks.
