Good news! Apple has indicated that it will be an upgrade to the iPhones. The great thing about this is that you would like to have this update.
Owners of Apple’s latest iPhones can expect a major camera upgrade later this year. This is thanks to two major improvements promised in the upcoming iOS 16 release. According to the Apple’s official iOS 16 website, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max smartphones are all getting an upgrade to the camera’s portrait mode that enhances the bokeh effect. This by adding artificial blur to both the foreground and background.

This will make your photos better. It should make the portrait mode effect even more realistic by more accurately simulating the look of professional cameras with wide-aperture lenses. By blurring the background of a portrait photo, your subject stands out. But a real wide-aperture lens would also blur the extreme foreground.
Deliberately blurring objects in the foreground can also be a great way to frame the subject in your photo. So this new feature not only brings more realism, but also opens up new creative possibilities for iPhone photography.

We also have good news for filming. The upgrade also includes improvements for videos, with Cinematic mode set to get more accurate depth of field effects for profile shots.
The iPhone 14 will arrive at the end of this year. Perhaps this smartphone will come with improved camera performance. Nevertheless, it’s good news that Apple is releasing this upgrade for iPhone 13 owners. Especially since the iPhone 13 Pro has a bit of errors when estimating the depth in portrait mode.
