Apple, source of vitamins and antioxidants
The apple is a mythical fruit that has seduced by its colorful skin and its bittersweet taste. Added to the taste pleasure is the health advantage: it is rich in fiber, low in calories (74 to 80 calories for a 150 g apple), full of vitamins and antioxidants. So many nutritional properties that make it an ally for those who want to put an end to snacking, control their weight and replenish their energy. >> To read also: “Recipes with Pink Lady apples”
Apple: an anti-aging action that cosmetics love
Why are apples so popular? Rich in sugars and vitamins (B, E and C), the apple is first concentrated in polyphenols such as quercetin, catechin and epicatechin. They are the ones who give this orchard fruit its pretty color. Above all, as active ingredients, polyphenols play a role of natural antioxidants that protect the skin against free radicals and premature aging.
Extra in the plate, the apple is also in the bathroom. And not only to perfume our creams and shower gels with its tangy scent. Some cosmetics players have understood this well and have set out to design organic cosmetic lines drawing on the wealth of apples, polyphenols, seeds, water and its fibers. Among these laboratories: the brand Pomona, and its Munificience range which puts the Normandy apple in the spotlight; Clémascience, who created the “Pomotherapy” with the “Element” line of cosmetics, of which the apple is the star. And Pomarium who also embarked on the experiment with the “Apple Spirit” range.

Anti-aging: apple water and its seeds also effective
Another beauty secret of the apple, its seeds. They are extracted to obtain a precious oil, rich in antioxidants, vitamin E and linoleic acid, this essential fatty acid that makes up sebum. A true hydration sink, apple seed oil nourishes and softens the skin. If it is difficult to find on its own in specialized stores, it is more easily found incorporated into certain skincare formulas associated with other ingredients.
Apple vegetable water is also involved in the composition of certain treatments. Stimulating, it smooths and refines the skin texture. Finally, apple fibers, with exfoliating properties, are ideal for a scrub when combined with other natural ingredients.
