Sold at Lidl, Cien beauty products are available almost endlessly: deodorants, liquid soaps, moisturizers, night creams, day creams, shower gels, make-up removers, BB creams… at unbeatable prices. !
Yes but here it is: in a new survey published on May 31the UFC-Que-Choisir pinned 17 cosmetics from the Cien brand containing substances potentially dangerous to health…
Cosmetics that contain endocrine disruptors or allergens (and sometimes both!)
The consumer association has tested several hundred beauty products sold at Lidl and assigned them grades, from A (“no risk identified to date”) to D (“significant risk”).
In total, 17 references are therefore frankly to be avoided. Thus, some products contain substances suspected of being endocrine disruptors (octocrylene, phenoxyethanol, butylphenyl methylpropional, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, etc.), others contain allergenic substances (methylchloroisothiazolinone, etc.), while still others combine several risk for the health.
Have you purchased any of these products? The best is probably to leave it in the closet and turn to a less problematic alternative for your health… And if you hesitate in the cosmetics department (to buy your sunscreen, your moisturizer or your deodorant), consider take a look at the list of components!
To note : products pinned by UFC-Que-Choisir but not sold in France were not included in the list. These are CIEN Brow perfect highlighter, CIEN Natural look spray – Beach Waves, CIEN Almendras body milk – Body milk, CIEN Gold cream – Handcreme and CIEN Gold moisturizer – Creme hidratante com triplo efeito .
