At the Munich Mobility Fair, Chinese manufacturers are in the news. Apart from the Great Wall Motor models: Wey Coffee and Ora Cat, which play the copy card, we find the ACM City One, a unique electric utility vehicle perfect for sneaking into the city center.
With a format of 3.60 m long, 1.65 m wide and 1.67 m high, the production version will be a little more imposing than the concept car presented at the Munich Motor Show 2021. This pragmatic cube with wheels has a loading capacity of 400 liters with four people on board. Better yet: when the rear seat is folded down, the ACM City One swallows up to 1,450 liters (enough to carry a Europallet) with a payload of up to 430 kg. Everything has been designed to make life easier for craftsmen, like the digital advertising screen integrated on the tailgate. Note that this slab will be even larger on the production version. Finally, if the concept sports a plastic body, the production version will be made of sheet metal. It’s stronger!

A la carte batteries
To maximize the range of action of the car, the arrangement of the batteries is multiple. A pack with a capacity of 16 kWh is attached under the front seats. There are also four additional interchangeable accumulators each with 2.5 kWh at a voltage of 48 V. This configuration, totaling 26 kWh, makes it possible to travel up to 240 km according to the Chinese consumption cycle. If necessary, four additional elements can be loaded, which adds a range of 120 km.

Question charging time, it is necessary to count:
- 8 hours on a 220 V Schuko wall socket, single phase 2.2 kWh;
- 5 hours on a 380 V three-phase 3.6 kWh Power plug;

Finally, if you are in a hurry to fill up your electrons, the battery exchange takes place in just 3 minutes flat.
What price for the ACM City One?
The representatives of the brand present on the “small” stand at the Munich Motor Show spoke of a price between 10,000 and 15,000 €. The brand has set a target of 200,000 vehicles produced each year. Carried out in Asia, probably in China, industrialization will begin at the end of 2023 for a commercial launch scheduled for 2024. An arrival in Europe is on the program.
