The health record is issued free of charge when the birth is declared by the civil registrar (from the town hall or a public hospital if he has a permanent presence within the maternity department to record the declarations of birth). Failing this, it can be requested from the departmental maternal and child protection service (PMI).
This notebook and the child’s health certificates have just been updated according to the recommendations of the High Council for Public Health (HCSP). This new health book wants to include prevention, in all environments and at all ages of life. Among the new messages:
- use baby bottles guaranteed without bisphenol A
- avoid putting a child under 3 years old in a room where the television is on (even if he doesn’t look at her)
- use a bed with bars without bumper
- put to sleep, if it’s possible, the baby in the room of his parents during the first 6 months at least.
