What about home help? What help to ask for? How to choose a retirement home? What solutions for living at home with Alzheimer’s disease? These are some of the questions the government’s new national information portal sets out to answer. The objective is to guide French people confronted directly or in their entourage with the loss of autonomy.
The website www.pour-les-personnes-agees.gouv.fr offers videos to concretely illustrate the steps to be taken to obtain aid or resolve situations of Autonomy loss (Alzheimer’s disease for example).
A directory is also available. It lists “local information points dedicated to the elderly, medical establishments and services”, explains the site.
A simulator for accommodation in nursing homes
For accommodation in EHPAD (accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people), these medicalized retirement homes, the portal has set up a simulator which makes it possible to estimate the amount of the remainder to be paid each month, after deduction APA (personal autonomy allowance) and housing assistance.
French people who would like to benefit from information from this national portal without going online can always reach telephone advisers from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on 0820 10 39 39 (€0.15 including tax per minute).
