It will begin in March and aims to “measure the nuisances that have been experienced by exposed people, the symptoms experienced, the impact on quality of life, social, family and professional relationships and then the psychosocial consequences and perceived health” emphasizes Anne Laporte, director of the regions of the agency Public Health France.
Smoke of 22 kilometers, 215 municipalities affected
The 22 kilometer long smoke affected 215 municipalities. Samples will be taken from the environment, before determining whether it is necessary to collect urine or blood from people living in that area.
The environmental investigation will focus on the doses of pollutants following the fire, even very low. According to the first results, the samples would be satisfactory, declared the regional director of the environment Patrick Berg to AFP.
