Stored because of bad color and because its engine was too gluttonous, this Ford Mustang resurfaced after a 46-year slumber. Almost as much as Sleeping Beauty?
This rare Ford Mustang model 1971 is a Boss 351 variant. This value indicates in “cubic inches”, or the equivalent of 5.74 liters, the displacement of its V8 engine. The latter via a 4-speed manual gearbox sends 330 hp to the rear wheels. This is a rare device that was only produced in 1,806 units.

A colorblind owner?
Purchased new in 1971, this Mustang was stored in this barn by its owner in 1976. The buyer originally ordered a red vehicle, but the car delivered to him, as you can see, is yellow. Colorblind, he wouldn’t have noticed if his wife hadn’t told him. Another grievance, apart from the color, is the fuel consumption that the owner considered too high. This is why he tried to replace the original quadruple-barrel carburettor with a double-barrel model that was supposed to limit the car’s appetite. He didn’t go all the way and abandoned his Mustang to its sad fate in this barn… 46 years ago! It is nevertheless in good condition and requires a thorough cleaning. Its engine has only traveled 46,175 miles, the equivalent of 74,311 km on the clock. There is however a cylinder to be redone, following the change of type of admission, the engine was left open for almost half a century.
