A famous English brand of condoms is launching a campaign to create a “condom” emoticon encouraging safer sex.
A donut + an eggplant =…? The Smartphone generation is used to these suggestive rebuses, she who massively resorts to emoticons to express her sexual desires. Indeed, these small figurative symbols allow him to refine his marivaudage by text – sometimes with a lot of imagination.
An uninhibited language
Durex specifically wants to take advantage of this trend to distill its prevention messages and encourage the use of its products. The global condom giant is launching a marketing campaign to create “the first official condom emoticon”, the company said in a statement.
Because as its authors point out, “no emoji has been created to talk about safe sex”. However, this colorful way of communicating could prove effective and uninhibiting in addressing the crucial question of the means of protection.
#CondomEmoji
An oversight that should therefore be repaired by enriching the palette of emoticons. On the occasion of World AIDS Day, which will take place on December 1, “Durex will officially submit its proposal to Unicode, the emoji publishing company”. Through its campaign, launched under the hashtag #CondomEmoji, the company hopes to gather a million supporters, so that the new icon sees the light of day.
