Lego does not offer a Mehari? Never mind ! A French designer markets his own version of the famous Citroën in Lego pieces. The buildable miniature, in scale 1:15, is available online for 99 €.
Behind the official catalog of the Lego brand there is a whole parallel universe populated by creators who present and sometimes sell by Internet their creations in briquettes, made according to their own plans from spare parts of the Danish manufacturer. A Frenchman nicknamed Nico71 is one of them and he offers among others, via the website Build a MOC, the Citroën Méhari that Lego does not sell.
A detailed realization
Produced at a scale of 1:15 using elements from various authentic Lego ranges (Technic, Bionicle, etc.), the Citroën Méhari kit includes 733 parts in total. When assembled, the car measures 10 ” (26cm) long, 4 ” (12cm) wide and the same high. The hood, doors and trunk open. The roof is removable. The steering wheel is functional, and the car even has independent wheel suspension. thanks to four springs. The Méhari’s engine is clearly visible under the hood but does not include any moving parts. A spare wheel is stored behind the seats to complete the set.

The Citroën Méhari in Lego by Nico71 is available in white, orange, red, green, yellow or blue, and its assembly instructions can be downloaded in PDF format. The kit costs € 99 excluding shipping costs. The same designer also offers a Citroën 2CV, Honda S2000, NSX and RA300, a Morgan 3 Wheeler or even a Fiat 500 F.
