I am a 67 year old man and have had mild pain in my left hip joint for a year and a half. I especially feel it when walking. If I can sit or recline for a while, it almost completely goes away. After walking I can’t bend down to take off my shoes; this is too painful. If I sit for a while, I can do it again. What do you think?

The pattern of the pain is a bit like a nerve compression – after some rest it goes again – but pain in the hip usually comes from the joint. I would de general practitioner let’s have a look. Sorry that I can’t help you more, but complaints of the musculoskeletal system you have to investigate a bit, otherwise you will not be able to solve it.
